Welcome Aboard

Marquette’s Upper and Lower Harbor’s and surrounding waters offer beautiful scenery and great fishing for a number of species throughout the year. Types of fish include Lake Trout, King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, and Brown Trout. Lake Trout, Coho Salmon, and Steelhead can be found all season long in the waters surrounding Marquette. April-June and Late August-October offer the best chance at King Salmon and Brown Trout, and can usually be caught within a mile from shore. All the fish caught around Marquette make excellent table fare coming from the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior. Trolling is the method used to catch these fish near shore. We will be fishing with 8-10 rods at a time or more, searching the different depths for actively feeding fish. We use Downriggers and Wire lines to take baits down as deep as 200 feet, looking for Lake Trout that like to hug the bottom. Running shallower than the downriggers, we use Flat lines, Dipsy Divers, and Lead Core Line to search for Salmon and Steelhead in the upper levels of the water column. When the rod starts bouncing, FISH ON, and the fight begins! Never fish the big water before? No problem! Let Captain John set the gear for you as you admire the beautiful scenery of Marquette and the Huron Mountains and wait for the big one to bite. Are you a seasoned angler looking to put a few new tricks in your bag? Help Captain John set out the gear as he explains the techniques used to catch these Great Lakes fish. These are great trips for the beginner fisherman and the Kids as well!
